Printing English flashcards: choosing a size and printing double-sided
Choose a suitable size, preview and print one test sheet before printing everything.
1. Prepare the card set
- Choose the content in the column Front and Back. For one-sided cards, choose only the Front column.
- Check the text, pictures and content on each side.
- Use the same size for every card in a set. Cards with little text can be small; cards with long sentences should be larger.
You can view flashcard templates to choose a layout.
2. Open the Print cards tab
Choose Card set to print. In the section Printing, choose Print front, Print back or Print double-sided. Wait for the images to load fully, then check the preview.
The number of cards on an A4 sheet depends on the size you choose.
3. Choose the right printer settings
Click Print / Save as PDF, then check in the print dialog:
- Choose paper A4 and the same paper orientation as the preview.
- Set 100% scale or Actual size to keep the exact card size.
- If printing double-sided, turn on double-sided printing and choose the same flip edge as on the website. If printing one-sided, turn off double-sided printing.
You can also choose Save as PDF if your browser supports it.
4. Print a test page and check it
Print one test sheet and check the size and back-side orientation before cutting or printing more.
If your printer only prints one side, try reloading the paper as your printer's instructions describe.
If the printout isn't right
- Cards too small: check that the scale is 100% and turn off Fit to page.
- Back side upside down: check the flip edge.
- Missing images: wait for the images to load fully, then print again.
- Text doesn't fit: cut some content or choose a larger card.
